Sweden votes in election that could put far-right in government

Voting was under way in Sweden on 13 September 2026 in a parliamentary election that could put the far-right Sweden Democrats in government for the first time. The party, Sweden's second largest, has been promised ministerial posts if the right retains power. A record 3.6 million voted early. Exit polls were due at 8pm.
