Laika gives every major Wildwood puppet a mechanical breath

Laika head of animation Brad Schiff told a TIFF session on Wildwood that all major puppets contain an internal diaphragm Laika calls a breather, cycling subtly to simulate breathing on camera. The studio first tested the system on 2019's Missing Link and standardized it for Wildwood, its Portland-set fantasy from the studio behind Kubo and the Two Strings.
