Government hospitality review proposes 24 red-tape cuts, including single alcohol licence framework

A government review into New Zealand's $21.4 billion hospitality sector has produced 24 recommendations to cut red tape. Proposals include replacing all alcohol licence types with one risk-based framework, repealing the Hotel Association of New Zealand Act 1969, scrapping annual licence renewals, and introducing a standardised national application form. Regulation Minister David Seymour said ministers will decide which recommendations to accept in the coming weeks.
