Mathematicians Allege OpenAI Used Their Unpublished Work From Codex Sessions in Navier-Stokes Breakthrough

Buckmaster and Alpöge input Navier-Stokes drafts into OpenAI's Codex tool. OpenAI then announced a solution using 10,000 AI agents. Buckmaster asked whether the model accessed or trained on those sessions; told it does not look up user data, he got no answer on training. OpenAI offered him two credit arrangements; he declined both. The Clay Mathematics Institute has not confirmed the solution meets its criteria.
