UK to Declassify Storm Shadow Missile Tech So Ukraine Can Build Its Own

Prime Minister Andy Burnham announced on 24 August 2026 that the UK will let defence firm MBDA declassify British components of the Anglo-French Storm Shadow/SCALP long-range stealth cruise missile, enabling Ukraine to produce its own version. France and Ukraine will establish local assembly lines. The shift moves Ukraine from receiving donated munitions toward licensed domestic production of a deep-strike capability.
