Senate inquiry: betting firms used drugs and sex to keep gamblers hooked

A Senate inquiry into the Interactive Gambling Amendment Bill 2026 heard evidence that betting outfits supplied problem gamblers with illicit drugs and sex workers to keep them betting. The Albanese government, which had flagged it might shelve the bill, now says it's open to amending its wagering inducement reforms.
