Israel Seeks Bids for 627 West Bank Settlement Homes Despite European Calls to Stop

Israel's Land Authority published a tender — an official request for construction bids — on August 6 for 627 housing units in the Kochav Yaakov settlement, between Jerusalem and Ramallah. Approved in April 2025, bids are due November 30. This is among 12 tenders covering 1,138 units issued in early 2026, weeks after Britain, France, Germany, and Italy urged a halt.
