Israel Solicits Bids for 627 West Bank Settlement Units Despite European Pressure

Israel's Land Authority published a tender on August 6 for 627 housing units in the Kochav Yaakov settlement, between Jerusalem and Ramallah. Approved in April 2025, the project now enters bid solicitation, with a November 30 deadline. This is among 12 tenders covering 1,138 units issued in early 2026, weeks after Britain, France, Germany, and Italy urged a halt.
