Cloudflare Launches Kitesurf, a Browser Engine for AI Agents

Cloudflare launched Kitesurf on August 7, 2026 — a cloud-hosted browser engine built for AI agents, not humans. It runs in V8 isolates on Cloudflare Workers, stripping out tabs, themes, and extensions to cut memory and compute costs that make per-agent Chromium instances expensive at scale. Kitesurf is in free beta via Browser Run. Cloudflare acknowledges prompt injection as a threat but has not detailed mitigations.
