Cloudflare Builds a Web Browser for AI, Not People

Cloudflare launched Kitesurf on August 7, 2026 — a cloud-hosted web browser designed for AI programs to navigate the internet, not for people. It strips out human-facing features like tabs and extensions to save computing resources. Cloudflare says standard browsers cost too much to run for thousands of AI agents at once. Kitesurf is free in beta. Cloudflare recognizes prompt-injection attacks as a risk but has not explained how it will address them.
