SpaceX Chooses Natural Gas Turbines Over Tesla Solar for Planned Texas Chip Fab

SpaceX will build 41 natural gas turbines — not Tesla solar panels — to power its planned $16.8 billion Terafab semiconductor factory in Grime County, Texas. An energy lead said SpaceX will be "bringing our own power," with battery arrays included. The turbines range from 16.48 to 50 MW. Chips are intended for SpaceX and xAI data centers.
