CBSA spent nearly $1-million on private jet charters for deportations, records show

CBSA spent close to $1-million from August 2021 to September 2022 chartering corporate jets — including a Dassault Falcon 900EX and a Bombardier Global 5000 — to deport or transfer foreign nationals, documents obtained by researcher Ken Rubin show. One January 2022 Falcon charter cost $438,000 to remove three people. CBSA says such charters are rare and reserved for exceptional cases.
