Anonymous political donations top $468,000 in first half of 2026

Political parties received $468,160 in anonymous donations in the first half of 2026, Electoral Commission figures show — more than the entire 2023 election cycle. National received $316,160 of it. A 2023 independent review recommended scrapping the scheme; Justice Minister Paul Goldsmith called it "not a priority."
