Jetstar to charge for overhead-locker access

Jetstar announced on 5 August 2026 that passengers will pay A$25–A$52 per flight to place carry-on bags in overhead lockers. Non-paying passengers get only a small under-seat bag. The fee varies by route and takes effect next year. Jetstar becomes the latest low-cost carrier to unbundle overhead-bin access — separating it from the base fare — from its standard ticket price.
