Judge Dismisses Last Jan. 6 Case, Overturning Oath Keepers' Seditious Conspiracy Convictions

U.S. District Judge Amit Mehta dismissed seditious conspiracy convictions against eight Oath Keepers, including founder Stewart Rhodes, sentenced to 18 years in 2023. The Trump Justice Department requested the move. The dismissal ends the final federal prosecution from the Jan. 6 Capitol riot. Mehta wrote the decision "diminishes the gravity of Jan. 6."
