Sunbird Returns to Google Play with Same Man-in-the-Middle iMessage Architecture

Sunbird's iMessage app for Android is back on Google Play, three years after a 2023 shutdown. Encryption flaws then exposed over 630,000 user files. The app still routes messages through a remote server impersonating Apple hardware — the same man-in-the-middle design behind the original breach. Sunbird has not specified security changes. The relaunch costs $3/month.
