Tories defend candidate with neo-Nazi past as Board of Deputies demands deselection

Conservatives selected Joshua Bonehill-Paine — jailed for neo-Nazi activism and convicted of racially harassing MP Luciana Berger — as their candidate for Crewkerne South on Somerset Council. Leader Kemi Badenoch said the party believes in second chances. The Board of Deputies of British Jews called the selection one that "beggars belief" and demanded he be dropped.
