Luxon defends NZDF flight after fundraiser, but neutrality questions remain

Prime Minister Christopher Luxon flew an NZDF King Air from a National Party fundraiser in Whanganui to Auckland on 23 July. He said no commercial flights were available and pilots needed flight hours. Labour's Chris Hipkins called it a "personal taxi service." The Cabinet Manual sets rules on political neutrality, and Luxon's defence doesn't address whether military aircraft should fly from partisan events.
