Bessent: Hormuz Reopening Deal Could Come Within Days

Treasury Secretary Bessent told CNBC August 4 the US and Iran may reach a deal to reopen the Strait of Hormuz "today or tomorrow," guaranteeing "freedom of movement" through the waterway. No deal was final then. The strait carries about a fifth of global oil supply. A June agreement evidently failed to fully restore navigation.
