Russian Anti-War Politician Nadezhdin Flees to Paris
Boris Nadezhdin, 63, who ran an anti-war campaign against Putin before being barred from Russia's 2024 presidential election, has fled to Paris. In an August 3 Telegram video filmed before the Eiffel Tower, he said: "Good news: I'm alive and free. Unfortunately, I'm not in Russia for the time being." His exit follows a July 10 foreign-agent designation — a label restricting political activity — and an extremism-related conviction ending his 2026 parliamentary bid.
