Anti-War Russian Politician Boris Nadezhdin Flees to Paris

Boris Nadezhdin, the 63-year-old Russian politician who ran an anti-war campaign against Putin in the 2024 presidential election before being barred, fled to Paris. In an August 3 Telegram video filmed before the Eiffel Tower, he said: "Good news: I'm alive and free. Unfortunately, I'm not in Russia for the time being." His exit follows a July 10 foreign-agent designation and an extremism-related administrative conviction that ended his September 2026 parliamentary bid.
