Samsung to Block Smart TV Apps That Secretly Route Stranger Traffic Through Viewers' Home Networks

Samsung will ban smart TV apps embedding residential proxy SDKs after Mnemonic found apps covertly routing strangers' web traffic through users' home connections, making it appear to originate from the user's own IP address. A Samsung-promoted Pac-Man game was among those flagged. LG separately pledged to suspend similar apps.
