ACT's Paul Henry proposes $3,000 fines for parents over school misbehaviour

ACT candidate Paul Henry's classroom discipline policy would require parents to attend meetings about serious or repeated misbehaviour. Parents who fail to attend without a reasonable excuse face fines of up to $300 for a first offence and $3,000 for any after that. Parents could also be held liable for deliberate property damage caused by their child at school, recoverable as a debt.
