ACT wants to fine parents up to $3,000 if they skip school meetings about their child's behaviour

ACT candidate Paul Henry wants parents to attend school meetings if their child misbehaves seriously or repeatedly. Parents who skip without a good excuse could be fined — up to $300 the first time and up to $3,000 after that. Parents could also have to pay for damage their child deliberately causes at school.
