Sony's digital game sales overwhelm discs 19 to 1 in FY2025

Sony's FY2025 results show digital game sales of $6.5 billion and in-game purchases of $8.4 billion against $781 million from physical discs. CFO Lin Tao confirmed July 31 that Sony will stop producing discs for new PlayStation titles by January 2028. A community blackout protest is planned for August 23.
