Sony's downloadable game sales beat physical discs by 19 to 1

Sony's latest yearly results show $6.5 billion in downloadable game sales and $8.4 billion in in-game purchases, compared to $781 million from physical discs. CFO Lin Tao said July 31 that Sony will stop making discs for new PlayStation games by January 2028. A community blackout protest is planned for August 23.
