Senate Again Rejects Iran War Powers Resolution

The Senate voted 49–50 on July 30, 2026 to reject an Iran war powers resolution — a measure to require congressional approval before military action. It was the second failed vote in two weeks. Congress has tried since January to reclaim its constitutional authority over the conflict, which escalated after a US-Iran ceasefire collapsed around July 13.
