Senate Panel to Vote on Contempt Charge for Fauci After He Declines to Answer Questions

Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) said his committee will vote the week of August 3 on whether to hold Dr. Anthony Fauci in contempt of Congress. Fauci declined to answer more than 100 questions at a July 29 Senate hearing on COVID-19 origins, citing his Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination. Paul called the refusal "unsupported," citing former President Biden's preemptive pardon.
