Senate Panel to Vote on Holding Fauci in Contempt After Fifth Amendment Refusal

Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) said his committee will vote the week of August 3 on whether to hold Dr. Anthony Fauci in contempt of Congress. Fauci invoked the Fifth Amendment and declined to answer more than 100 questions during a July 29 Senate hearing on COVID-19 origins. Paul called the refusal "unsupported," citing former President Biden's preemptive pardon.
