Major Labels Want AI Songs Off the Charts but Licensed Catalogs to AI Startup Klay

Sony, Universal, and Warner want chart companies to disqualify AI-generated songs, allowing only primarily human-made tracks that use lawfully-sourced AI. Yet all three licensed their catalogs to AI streaming startup Klay in November 2025. The labels' target is unlicensed AI flooding platforms, not AI itself.
