
Major Labels Push to Ban AI Songs From Charts While Licensing Catalogs to AI Startup Klay
Sony, Universal, and Warner Music are calling on chart companies worldwide to disqualify AI-generated songs, demanding only primarily human-made tracks with lawfully-sourced AI be eligible. Yet all three labels licensed their catalogs to AI streaming startup Klay in November 2025. The labels' stance targets unlicensed AI flooding platforms — not AI itself.
