Victoria's third premier in three years

Ben Carroll was sworn in as Victoria's third premier in under three years on 28 July 2026, after Jacinta Allan resigned minutes before a leadership spill. In his first address, Carroll said: "I am not Daniel Andrews. I am not Jacinta Allan." Andrews endorsed him anyway, calling him "a great campaigner." Three months remain before the November election.
