FCC Robot Import Waivers Require U.S. Manufacturing, Not Security Fixes

The FCC's July 28 import ban on foreign-made robots and power inverters cites national security, but waiver applicants must submit a U.S. manufacturing plan — not any security improvements to the devices. The application requires no hardening of the banned equipment. Products already in the U.S. may remain in use.
