Amnesty Demands Iran Halt Executions of Protesters

Amnesty International urged Iran on July 28 to stop its escalating campaign of arbitrary executions targeting protesters. Human Rights Watch reports at least 24 people executed on political charges since March 18. Many were detained during January's mass protests, which activists say killed over 6,200. Iran has carried out 424 executions in 2026.
