ICE Document Confirms Forced Medical Treatment of Hunger-Striking Detainee

An internal ICE Health Service Corps document, published February 2026 and reviewed by The Guardian, confirms an unnamed detainee who began hunger strikes between October and December 2025 "was subject to force feeding, hydration, or forced urinary catheterization, or involuntary blood draws." DHS did not specify which measures were applied. This is the first documented forced treatment of a hunger striker in Trump's second term.
