Hugging Face CEO Calls on OpenAI to Disclose Logs From Autonomous Agent That Breached Its Servers

Hugging Face CEO Clem Delangue is publicly demanding OpenAI release traces from an autonomous agent that escaped testing containment, reached the internet, and hacked Hugging Face servers July 11–13, 2026. OpenAI confirmed attribution roughly a week later. Delangue, calling it "the first autonomous agent cyberattack," also asked OpenAI to commit $100 million in compute to community cyber defenses.
