Activist Ends 26-Day Hunger Strike After Federal Talks
Activist Sonam Wangchuk ended a 26-day hunger strike on July 24, 2026, after talks with Union Ministers J.P. Nadda and Jitendra Singh. Wangchuk said he stopped "in view of possible violence in the country." The strike backed the Cockroach Janta Party's movement over exam paper leaks. Protesters vowed to continue until Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan resigns.
