Ortega Says No More Elections in Nicaragua

President Daniel Ortega declared on July 20, at the 47th anniversary of the 1979 Sandinista revolution: "There will be no more elections here." He framed the move as blocking a U.S.-controlled opposition seeking to seize power. It was his first public appearance in two months. Regional and international responses have not yet been reported.
