
Burnham enters No 10, appoints Miliband and Healey to top roles
Andy Burnham became prime minister on 20 July 2026 and named his first cabinet, BBC News reported. Ed Miliband was appointed foreign secretary and John Healey chancellor. Burnham is Labour's third leader in two years, after roughly 100 Labour MPs demanded a change in June. Miliband moved from the energy brief he held under Keir Starmer.
