FDA Retracts Cyclospora Finding on Taylor Farms Lettuce

The FDA retracted its July 18 finding that a Taylor Farms lettuce sample tested positive for Cyclospora — a parasite that causes intestinal illness — calling it a false positive. Taylor Farms had already recalled iceberg lettuce from central Mexico based on the result. The agency apologized but has not explained what caused the error.
