FDA Retracts Cyclospora Finding on Taylor Farms Lettuce, Apologizes to Company
On July 19, 2026, the FDA retracted its July 18 finding that a Taylor Farms lettuce sample tested positive for Cyclospora, calling it a false positive. The agency apologized directly to Taylor Farms, which had already completed a voluntary recall of iceberg lettuce from central Mexico based on the initial result. The FDA has not disclosed what caused the error.
