Andy Burnham Appointed UK Prime Minister

Andy Burnham became UK Prime Minister on 20 July 2026 after King Charles III formally asked him to form a government at Buckingham Palace. Keir Starmer resigned that morning, saying "his work is done." Burnham, formerly Mayor of Greater Manchester, is the sixth prime minister in a decade and the fourth in under four years.
