Andy Burnham Becomes UK Prime Minister

Andy Burnham became UK Prime Minister on 20 July 2026 after King Charles III gave him the job at Buckingham Palace. Keir Starmer stepped down that morning, saying "his work is done." Burnham used to be Mayor of Greater Manchester. He is the sixth prime minister in ten years and the fourth in under four.
