
FIFA: No Evidence Behind Mandatory World Cup Hydration Breaks
FIFA's Arsene Wenger said July 18 the organization lacks performance data showing mandatory three-minute hydration breaks improve player ability or game flow. The breaks, enforced regardless of weather at the 2026 World Cup, drew fan criticism — including during a 16°C match in Seattle.
