Long-Time Bond Bull Hoisington Turns Bearish on US Treasuries

Bloomberg reported July 16, 2026 that Hoisington Investment Management, a decades-long bull on long-duration US Treasuries, now expects inflation and long-term yields to rise. Chief economist Lacy Hunt cited structural fiscal deficits and rising capital demands. The firm's Q4 2025 review still called declining yields "increasingly likely"; by Q1 2026, it reversed.
