
Long-Time Bond Optimist Hoisington Now Expects US Government Bond Yields to Rise
Bloomberg reported July 16, 2026 that Hoisington Investment Management, which spent decades betting US government bond prices would rise, now expects inflation and bond yields to climb. Yields rise when bond prices fall. Chief economist Lacy Hunt blamed persistent government deficits and growing demand for capital. The firm still expected lower yields in Q4 2025; by Q1 2026, it reversed.
