Florida Congressional Candidate Charged With Threatening President Trump
Federal prosecutors charged William Upham, 35 — a former Marine, ex-state prosecutor, and Republican write-in candidate for Florida's fifth congressional district — with threatening to kill President Trump. The DOJ announced the Jacksonville indictment on July 16 after the Secret Service investigated social media videos of Upham, in uniform, calling for the administration's overthrow. He faces up to five years if convicted.
