Gabriel Perez, a White House teleprompter operator since 2016, is in settlement talks with the CFTC. He allegedly earned nearly $100,000 on Kalshi, a prediction market, betting on words Trump would say in speeches, using early access to prepared remarks. Kalshi froze $90,000 and referred the case — the first known probe of a White House employee exploiting nonpublic government information on a prediction market.
