Paraguay's Congress Removes President Santiago Peña Over Bank Collapse
Paraguay's Congress removed President Santiago Peña from office on Friday after lawmakers unanimously found him guilty of malfeasance, or wrongdoing in office. Peña had announced his resignation Thursday, but lawmakers refused to accept it. Vice President Pedro Alliana was sworn in to serve through August 2028.
