Peru Seizes More Than 3,000 Tarantulas Hidden in Socks Bound for Germany

Peruvian authorities seized more than 3,000 tarantulas hidden in dirty socks in three suitcases at Jorge Chávez International Airport in Callao, Peru, bound for Germany. Agents noticed wriggling during a routine customs inspection. Two German nationals and one Polish citizen were detained and will face criminal proceedings, according to wildlife service SERFOR.
